The Girl Pebble was lost on the beach, She was a beautiful little Pebble called Lumière Dorée, an amazing golden colour with flecks of baby blue and slightly translucent to any who cared to look. But She was lost, all the boy Pebbles that saw Lumière wanted to rub up against Her perfectly smooth skin, perhaps so that a little of Her Beauty would rub off on them. They looked at Her, none really wanted to see Her, they just wanted a taste of Her specialness. And so She would run, hiding away in the shadow of a large sand dune.

The Boy Pebble, whose name was Guerrier-Roi, was a funny looking old thing. Large and rough on the outside, and a deep, deep blue colour with flashes of brilliance at his core. But he was deformed, on one side of him was an indentation as if there was something missing, and though some of the girl pebbles liked him, He knew none of them was right for him and kept his distance. But Guerrier-Roi was getting tired of looking for His One Pebble.. Hope was dying within him that She even existed amongst all the pebbles on the beach. And so he trudged on, sending out little flashes, praying that She might see him, yet worried that his full Heart would wither and perish without Her.

Guerrier-Roi had a friend on the beach, a big grey, wise old stone called Forte Volonté Promeneur, and sometimes Guerrier would call on him and discuss the ways of the World and they would share jokes and the words they had written. The old grey stone could see in Guerrier the sadness he felt because of his missing love, and quietly he too looked for Guerrier’s Pebble..

What Guerrier didn’t know, was that Lumière was also a friend of Forte Volonte Promeneur, until one day he called on his wise friend a saw Her there talking with him. Guerrier was amazed! Something in him knew there was something special about this beautiful little pebble and though deep inside him his hope rekindled, he kept his thoughts to himself. Lumière for Her part, looked at Guerrier and though She liked him instantly She harboured doubts, which She kept to Herself. Forte Volonte Promeneur kept quiet and watched the two as they talked in his house, thinking silently to himself.

Some days later Guerrier was walking along the beach when he saw Lumière and wandered over to say Hi. She smiled at him and for a while they stood there and talked. Guerrier was entranced! But though he tried to tell Her that he truly liked Her his meaning got lost inside a whirlwind of words and Lumière smiled once again, made Her excuses and left. Lumière kept smiling as She walked away, running their little wordplay through Her mind and liking Guerrier just a little more …

Forte Volonte Promeneur looked kindly on his two friends and with his wise old eyes could see within them both their loneliness and yearning, each for their own pebblemate .. and so, the wily old stone came up with a plan ..

So one night, when he and Lumière were talking, he said “Sweet Lumière, You know young Guerrier-Roi? Did You know he really likes You? I mean really, REALLY likes You? Why don’t You talk with him? Talk with him and look at him, with eyes wide open… See what You can see…”. Lumière looked at Forte and said “Are You sure?”, Forte smiled kindly and said “Trust me, Guerrier may just be the Pebble You’re looking for…”.

So She thought and thought and thought about Guerrier… He was a strange looking pebble, but maybe… just maybe …

So the following night She sought out Guerrier, who was sat scribbling on his slate and stood there for a while just watching him… For sure, he was different from the other pebbles, but could he be Her Pebblemate??? She sat down beside him and said “Hi Guerrier…”.
“Oh my goodness!!! Lumière Hi!!!”, Guerrier’s Heart leapt when he saw Her sat beside him, “How are You?”, She smiled and said “Im fine Guerrier, You know, I was talking with Forte last night and he said…”, and She told him what Forte had said and they both laughed and talked and talked for hours… And again the following night… and again the following night… and they looked and they saw each other and they listened and heard and both realised that they were slowly falling In Love…

On the fourth night Guerrier said to Lumière, “My Dearest one… May I… err… hold You? Please?”, Lumière smiled that dazzling smile and… a Miracle! As She cuddled in close to him She fitted right into the curious indentation in his side!!!! A perfect fit!

“Lumière, my dear, dear Lumière … I Love You…”,

Lumière looked into his eyes and replied “Darling Guerrier.. I Love YOU too…”, and Guerrier cried because he was so full of Love and Passion for his Beautiful pebblemate.

Lady Moonlight by Tharlam

The Poet casts his verse deep in the dark,

And ponders whether anyone will hark,

Unto his Heart which pours out on the page,

And beats as though to flee its osseous cage.

Words red as blood and sweet as vintage wine,

Bleed forth into the blankness of his mind,

Concepts and ideas both spark and sputter,

His Muse, hid in the depths, begins to mutter,

As in the Poem Forge the Poet toils,

And Poem smoke around him writhes and coils,

Man as Poem

My perfect work of art, my painted muse,

Her skin a flawless canvas without peer,

This artist who’s become the only one whose

Touch I crave, whom I need ever near,

Her deep, creative soul is my desire,

Soft tattooed skin encasing such a mind,

That sets my rapid beating Heart a-fire

With feelings that are honesty defined,

And though she dwells so very far away,

Her distance is a hurdle that recedes

Before my Passions strength that grows each day,

Succumbing to my yearning, wants and needs,

And when She links Her wondrous soul with mine,

Our Love will stand the testament of time.
